Dugin interviews Gholamreza Avani

The video begins with a beautiful madahi to 'Ali (ع). Aleksandr Dugin then interviews Iranian philosopher Gholamreza Avani (one of Henry Corbin's students). Avani offers a summary of the problems in Islamic philosophy as a living tradition. He talks about Avicenna (Ibn Sina) and Suhrawardi. Dugin then asks him about Henry Corbin (d. 1978) and Avani offers a precis of Corbin's life and career, and towards the end highlights Corbin's post-Heidegerrianism and offers a criticism of Heidegger which disturbs Dugin. Professor Avani's criticism of Heidegger is, however, spot on in that Heidegger's ontology (unlike the ontologies of Islamic philosophy and those Henry Corbin subscribed to throughout most of his career) is essentially a materialist ontology, anti-transcendental, and makes man's being-in-the-material-world (dasein) rather than man's being in its true ultimacy as the focus.

Hand of Fāṭimīya

Habib Shahbazi and N. Wahid Azal (c) 2016

13 Greatest Name symbols (al-ism al-aʿzam) formed into the Khamsa = Muḥammad (ص) plus the 12 Imāms (ع). The letter ص is the letter signifying Fāṭima's (ع) elect -- who operate as Her proverbial eye -- with the whole Hand representing Her. The five fingers of the Hand represent the 4 elements (Air, Fire, Water, Earth) plus the Quintessence that in turn signify the four archangels of the Divine Throne plus the Divine Throne Itself which in the microcosm instantiate as the five senses. Now, 7 sigils of the Greatest Name repeated 13x plus the ص (as 1) = 92  = Muḥammad. Finally, horizontally when the blind mīm of the Greatest Name at the top right thumb is taken on its own and read with ص and the split hā' of the left thumb on its own, the number 135 is derived = Fāṭima (ع).

A Shiʿi anti-Duginist reading of the hadith of the legions of Hiero-Intelligence and acosmic ignorance

From al-Kulaynī’s al-Kāfī (H14, Book 1: kitāb al-ʿaql wa’l-jahl).

Note: I have deliberately translated al-ʿaql (i.e. the Hiero-Intelligence/Nexal Consciousness) as Logos, and al-jahl (acosmic ignorance) as chaos. Although technically not precise, the thrust however of the intention is accurate. In other words, any form or articulation of the “metaphysics of chaos” is per the teachings of the Imāms of the House (upon Them be infinite blessings and peace) condemned as a manifestation of the legions of al-jahl (acosmic ignorance), i.e. chaos.

…Abu ʿAbd Allāh (Imām Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq), upon Him be peace, said: “Verily from His Light God – majestic and mighty be He -- created the Logos (al-ʿaql) and it was the first creation of the spiritual world on the right side of the divine Throne. He then told it to move backwards and the Logos moved backwards. He then told it to come forward, and the Logos (al-ʿaql) came forward.” God  -- blessed and elevated be He -- said, “I have created you a great creation and honoured you above all others of My creation.’” The Imām, upon Him be peace, continued, “God then created the chaos (al-jahl) from a dark, putrid [primordial] ocean [of the abyss] and told it, “Move backwards,” so it moved backwards. He then called it to come forward but it did not come forward. He then said to it, “you are arrogant” and so pronounced it condemned [or 'cursed']…

Duginism is the global Jim Crow!

I'm not talking about the liberals here. I'm not talking about the privileged and entitled bourgeoisie who treat equal rights on paper with material justice, and in doing so, conflate hate speech with free speech. I'm talking about those who're supposed know the difference between incitement against the otherized scapegoat and truth to power. I'm talking about the pro-Syria left folks within the anti-imperialist camp, especially the ones living in Europe and North America.

I'd wager that some of these folks may be getting paid to whitewash clearly white supremacist Fascism as a convoluted strategy to create chaos and bring down the Corporate-Military Empire of the 1%. Some desperately wish to get paid. Some are just confused. None of them don't seem to recognize Duginist "National Bolshevism" as the reactionary, sectarian, neo-bonapartist death cult that it is.

Their cynical fascination with hastening the fall of the Atlantist Empire no matter what the human cost of such Fascism driven chaos, is not only immoral but also naive. To see some of them conflate Revolutionary Islamic Traditionalism, primarily of the Shi'a resistance movements, with the segregationist nightmare of the Duginist variety is tragic. Islam is transnational based on universal morality rooted in the Sacred Covenant of Noah (AS) as mentioned in Qur'an 42:13. As such, the end can never justify the means from our ontological perspective. From that perspective, Islamic eschatology compels Muslims to fight oppression no matter what -- not enable and empower evil, in this case Fascists, to add fuel to the fire of chaos, and hasten the destruction of their camp that way.

The idea that such massive human suffering and destruction will unify the left and galvanize the kind of popular support to bring about a brave new world, is antithetical to Islam and our role in the Human Project for the pleasure of Allah (SWT). A project where we make the most diligent effort to enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil.

We are people of the Akhira (the end, i.e. the other world). As such, we cannot worship the dunya (the material world) as a materially self-constructed deity the way takfiris do. Our effort to be morally upright and liable human beings who defend the oppressed and benefit humanity in this world is informed by that faith. This view is constantly repeated by the duly qualified Ulema of the Shi'a as well as the four schools of jurisprudence of normative Sunnism. The trouble is, many Muslims in the Duginist camp tend not to listen to our Ulema for political guidance during these times. This is deeply divisive with tragic consequences. May Allah (SWT) guide us all to empathy and light.

Dugin on Israel and Zionism

A segment of a recent interview with Russian sociologist and neo-fascist founder of the Fourth Politcal Theory (4PT) Aleksandr Dugin regarding Israel and Zionism which appeared as part of an interview by Morris108. The full interview can be found here:

Despite the pretensions of many of his Euro-American far-right acolytes, here Dugin highlights that neither he nor the Russian state have any fundamental problems with Israel or Zionism. Without couching the issue in the more complex distinction between Zionism and Judaism, here (without saying so) Dugin lumps all Jews under the Zionist rubric and then proceeds to defend this rubric. He also exonerates Israel from any part in stoking and perpetuating the Syrian conflict (in essence denying Israel's well known agency, support and mobilization of assorted takfiri death-squad mercenary groups who have been operating inside Syria since 2011 with NATO complicity) and at one point refers to "Israeli Traditionalists" whom Dugin and Russia have no problems with and actually support. How either Syria, Hezbollah or Iran can go along with this, is anyone's guess!

For a fuller treatment of Dugin, see my Counterpunch article, "Dugin’s Occult Fascism and the Hijacking of Left Anti-Imperialism and Muslim Anti-Salafism"
